Logging Equipment Operator Academy
About
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú is offering a Logging Academy Program in partnership with Mississippi Logging Association and Mississippi Forestry Commission. The academy is an 8 to 16-week program designed to equip students with little or no experience to become a logging equipment operator with safety certifications as well as Professional Logging Manager (PLM) status.
Classroom & Field Training
This course will consist of classroom instruction in forestry concepts, logging safety, and basic business concepts specific to logging. Field sessions will reinforce classroom training and provide actual equipment operation.
Fast-Paced & Physically Demanding
Logging equipment operators operate heavy machines like skidders, feller-bunchers, loaders, dozers and graders. An operator must able to work in a fast-paced physically demanding job that requires attention to detail and good eye-hand coordination.
Admission Requirements
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Must be able to pass a DOT drug test
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to provide own transportation
- Previous experience with equipment operation (farm tractors, dozers, etc.) is desirable but not required.
- $100 non-refundable registration fee
