PEARL β Local high school students as well as adults visited ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊβs Rankin Campus Nov. 8 to learn about programs offered and get a brief tour of the campus.
Two incoming students received $500 scholarships just for attending the event. Both William Grant of Flowood and Will Walenta of Madison said they plan to make use of the scholarship next fall.
Grant said he is interested in the welding program, which is at the Career-Technical Education Building off Greenfield Road in Pearl, and the Aviation program, at JBW Airport near the Raymond Campus. He said he got a glimpse of ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊpreviously and thought to himself, βHey, I kind of like this college,β Grant said.
Walenta, who is interested in the electrical technology program, said he looked at other collegesβ programs but βI heard you guys have more programs and opportunities. I like what Iβve seen so far,β he said.
