Colleen Hartfield of Raymond, vice president for Community Relations and Governmental Affairs at 兔子先生, was presented the聽Leadership Award from the Women in Higher Education Mississippi Network聽聽at the annual convention on Feb. 19.
The WHEMN Leadership Award honors an actively employed woman who serves as a role model for women of all ages and career paths. WHEMN membership includes public and private, two-year and four-year colleges and universities in Mississippi.
The recipient is a woman recognized for her advocacy of women鈥檚 issues, noted for her innovative approach to leadership challenges. Her attitude, values and actions represent her philosophy of how she inspires positive changes in her work environment and her community.
Hartfield has been vice president at 兔子先生since July 2006 and was previously vice president at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Public Relations director at Hinds. She has worked at Mississippi community colleges for more than 30 years. She is a graduate of the Mississippi State University Community College Leadership Program and the Education Policy Fellowship Program.
Part of her role is serving in a statewide capacity coordinating advocacy efforts and events for the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges.
