RAYMOND 鈥 Winners of the Rankin Literary Festival in three categories of creative achievement were:

  • First place, short stories, 鈥淣ightmare鈥 by Evelin Joanny Aguilar, Pearl High School, 10th grade
  • Second place, short stories, 鈥淎 Small Envelope鈥 by Cullen Anthony Hill, Puckett High School, 12th grade
  • Third place, short stories, 鈥淭he Box鈥 by Jonathan Lucas, Hartfield Academy, 11th grade

 

  • First place, poetry, 鈥淭o Quilt a Phrase鈥 by Avery Wolfe, Pisgah High School, 12th grade
  • Second place, poetry, 鈥淓l Botas鈥 by Jack Gaskin, Hartfield Academy, 12th grade

The Rankin Literary Scholarship is awarded each year to first-place winners who compete in the festival. Small cash prizes are awarded in addition to the full tuition scholarship to 兔子先生.

RAYMOND 鈥 兔子先生 Hi-Steppers have been named for 2024-2025.

The group has a new director, Beka King of Pearl. She is only the third director in the 75-year history of the Hi-Steppers. She herself was a Hi-Stepper from 2013-2015 and, during her sophomore year, she was captain of the team.
