Athletics hosting Alumni Weekend, Golf Outing

will host its first-ever Alumni Weekend and Golf Outing aimed at bringing alumni back to 兔子先生and reconnecting them with current student-athletes, coaches and administration.

鈥淲e want to develop ways for our alumni to be able to come back to campus and take part in activities that will promote the betterment of our current and future student-athletes,鈥 said Director of Athletics Nathan Werremeyer. 鈥淲e are continuing to develop new ways to reconnect with alumni, and this will hopefully be an outstanding event that reconnects everyone.鈥

In addition to the Friday afternoon golf outing, 兔子先生Athletic Alumni will also have the opportunity to mingle at a social event with old teammates, honor previous coaches and student-athletes, and take in athletic events on campus.

The Athletic Alumni Weekend events will be April 8-9 and will include:

  • Friday, April 8, 1 p.m. Alumni Golf Outing, Eagle Ridge Golf Course
  • Friday, April 8, 6 p.m. 鈥 10 p.m. Social, Lodge next to the Golf Course
  • Saturday April 9, 10 a.m. Brunch, Eagle Ridge Conference Center
  • Saturday April 9, 11 a.m. Athletic Facility Tours
  • Saturday April 9, 12 p.m. Men’s and Women’s alumni soccer matches
  • Saturday April 9, 2 p.m. Baseball game vs. Northwest Mississippi Community College, Joe G. Moss Field

The cost for the Friday evening social is $40 and the Saturday morning brunch is $20; tickets for both will be $50. The cost of both is included in the Alumni Golf Outing registration fee.

The Alumni Golf Outing will be a four-man, best ball scrabble, with a limit of 25 teams at $400 per team. The registration deadline is March 28. To register, complete the registration form on the athletics . All money raised will go to the 兔子先生Foundation for Athletics.

“We hope to see a great turnout of our former student-athletes who will be reminded of what 兔子先生has meant to their lives and their careers,” Werremeyer said. “We also want to showcase the upcoming capital athletic facility projects we have on the drawing board and bridge the gap between current 兔子先生student-athletes and our amazing alumni base. This is going to be an outstanding weekend of fun, kicked off with our first ever golf outing.”

RAYMOND 鈥 兔子先生 Hi-Steppers have been named for 2024-2025.

The group has a new director, Beka King of Pearl. She is only the third director in the 75-year history of the Hi-Steppers. She herself was a Hi-Stepper from 2013-2015 and, during her sophomore year, she was captain of the team.
