ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúCC Utica Campus inducts new Phi Theta Kappa members

UTICA – ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s Utica Campus inducted new members and elected new officers of the Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Beta Xi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society on the Utica Campus of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúCommunity for the 2023-24 school year.

The new inductees for the Alpha Beta Xi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, which are from ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúCounty, include, front from left, Mya Kennedy of Jackson and Carleedia Littleton also of Jackson; second row, Ardarrius Stasher of Jackson, Arlisea Best of Utica, Kylie Campbell of Terry, Anahja Reed of Jackson, Keandria Okeke of Jackson and Kyra Williams of Jackson; back row, NiShan Shears of Jackson, Robin Robinson of Utica, Keyuna Seals of Jackson, Maya McFadden of Jackson and K’Cy Jones of Canton. The Alpa Beta Xi chapter is based on ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s Utica Campus.

The Alpha Beta Xi Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society on the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Utica Campus selected new officers for the 2023-24 school year. They are, from left, Anahja Reed of Jackson, Mya Kennedy of Jackson, NiShan Shears of Jackson, Tra’Shaylah Wilson of Lake and K’cy Jones of Canton.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for community and junior college students. An invitation for membership in Phi Theta Kappa is only extended to students who have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or above on 12 or more transferrable credit hours. There are more than 1,200 Phi Theta Kappa chapters throughout the United States and abroad.

The group has a new director, Beka King of Pearl. She is only the third director in the 75-year history of the Hi-Steppers. She herself was a Hi-Stepper from 2013-2015 and, during her sophomore year, she was captain of the team.
